Seven Heavens

Life on the go ❤️

A little bit of you

A little bit of me

A little bit of us in all you see

Save Them !

Save them ! Save them !
look what we gave them
when those fingers were tender
remember, what our mean mind did render

A time to go outdoors
Play, Run or Dance on floors
Childhood is to be lived out,
without a moment of self doubt

Yet what did we give in their hands
a smart device from the best brands
Now they’re sloppy and slouching
swiping, texting even while crouching

Attention degraded, the mind hazed
why did we let their childhood cruelly be erased
likes, posts and gaming online
Do they know the bliss of Sunshine?

Oh! But wait! Look at us
We’re equally a part of the fuss
checking the screen adding selfie spice
spining around on the Instagram dice

Where is the discernment ?
The ability of being observant
of where we spend our time
precious, respected both yours and mine.

The young ones are constantly looking
how all necks are bent, at the screen glaring
so they follow what they see
their hearts trapped in this swiping spree

let them have food looking at the green
why swap innocence with an addictive screen
and later we cry on loosing them young
and see them drowning one by one

Give them books, teach them to write ✍️
show them how to seek God’s Light
take them to a shrine or a chapel
instead of hearing a sermon on a phone by Apple

Let them sit and ponder under a tree
Those fingers will wear out, let them be free
show them rainbows
🌈 and a starry sky
Let them be uncomfortable to fly like the butterfly

I know you say “Generatios have changed”
Yet look at purpose in them de-arranged
how did we all reach where we are
did we have a device to make us an overnight star?

Anger issues, mood swings and outbursts
all spring from this tech cloudburst
addiction of such has no boundary
show them when little, hope in God’s camaraderie

Go back and align
give our Alphas goals redesigned
else we inch closer and closer
to an irrevocable closure

(On the same lines as TV written by Dahl- Old wine new skin!!

A poem named Television By Roald Dahl written in the late 1960s stands as a staunch reminder for parents and adults who for their self interest let children close to TV forgetting the value that Books could give them.

Though it was written ages ago but the whole concept stands true in the present scenario where we are facing a generation devoid of values and purpose. Where mobile phone addiction is causing all the problems that one could think of. It’s really time to reflect and act.)

Thank you for reading !!

Got bless you all 🕊️

  1. Gosh this is so so true. People have 8 second brain nowadays, and can spend an entire day on social media. A life devoid of purpose – absolutely. In so many ways, things have become easier, but it makes it that much harder to forge real connections. Breathing in fresh air, feeling the sunshine, yes, you can miss that for hours when you’re a kid.
Thanks for sharing your words Celina 😊 🙏 they really do resonate ❤️

  2. So true!! Like you, I’m a front line worker but our warrior- ship remains undervalued, you work to save lives medically, I work to save and build lives mentally. I see and face the numerous problems that children face these days all because of the advent of AI and digitalisation.
Thank you for reading!! I’m glad that it did resonate 💝

  7. Good post. Perfectly describes Gen Alpha.
Thought I’d drop by to say hi.
I am a bit of a technophobe, but instead of touching grass, I go to social tennis or the library to read books, and I mean hard cover books, not E-books.

  8. Hey 👋 James !! So happy to see your comment here !! Wow that’s great !! I won’t prefer E or i- Books !! Books have to be the hard cover ones with that fresh fragrance. You’re doing a great job by doing all of that ❤️ and thank you so much for stopping by, reading and commenting too. Means a lot to me !! God continue blessing you ❤️

    WoW so much truth here.

Wonderful poem and something that needs to be read to young ones and even some adults.

What ever happened to those days of hanging outside, talking to neighbors, watching the kids play, 1-2-3 red light, hide and seek, kick the can? Neighbors playing wall-ball and softball? What ever happened to turning on the fire hydrant and watching the neighbors soak under the boarded arch on the hydrant? Whatever happened to hearing the neighbors shout for their kids to get in the house before the get the belt because the street lights came on? It’s all internet and cell phones nowadays. No one hangs outside anymore. Sad .

  12. I just time traveled reading your words. Sometimes I pray “Lord forgives us, have mercy and give our lives back to us. Lives where we loved our neighbours as we love ourselves, where running around in the wild grass with friends was a thing, where looking at the moonlit sky and dreaming meant deep, where none of us would want to stay indoors during vacations, I can still hear my dear Father calling out my name to come back and me telling him “just two minutes more daddy”.. where are those days ? Really Willie I feel sad for this generation that’s stripped of Real Joy.

All we can do is Pray Pray and Pray more ❤️ Thank you Willie🙏 your insights on this piece is absolutely correct. God bless us all 🕊️

    Amen 🙏🤗

It’s truly bittersweet to think that kids today might not experience the same joy we did from simply being outdoors. We created our own games and found fun in every corner, from catching lightning bugs to playing until nightfall. It wasn’t about competition or gadgets—just the pure pleasure of being outside. If I could turn back time for even a single day, I’d love to relive those moments of kicking the can or playing wall-ball with friends.
