  14. Lust is the trick played by the mind. The wickedness of the flesh.
Every human is given two choices – to become better or to become bitter.. the will is free, choice is yours – whatever be the choice one should be ready to accept the consequences.

  15. Lust, I see it associated to males, but there has to be a vanity that also fits for both genders. In scripture, two stories stand out, one of Joseph running away when Potiphar’s wife attempted to seduce him, and the wicked Jezebel. More complex cases would be the book of Hosea and the spy Rahab.

  16. Spot on with that !

It is the flesh and does the flesh know what it does, I rather say it is governed by the way one allows temptations to breed like the weed; irrespective of male or female.

In all ways; it remains a Sin.
Thank you for throwing more light on this topic that most people consider forbidden. You really made sense there. ❤️

  17. I think 🤔 what Jesus said is that just looking at a woman just for sexual pleasure means one has already committed adultery in their heart. The solution is extreme. Cut the part of the body because it is better to enter heaven missing a part than to be thrown to hell, whole! What? Extreme, but the point 👉 is that we should have a radical view on sin. In Christ, he wants us to be whole in Him. We read 📚 in an intro to New Testament class, not in church, but at a secular church, that one of the early church fathers got caught in a youth movement and ended up castrated! (Debatable story) : https://earlychurchhistory.org/medicine/origens-castration/. While controversial, the point of the passage is not self-mutilation. Jesus wants us to have a radical view on sin, but to also turn to Him for overcoming the sinful flesh. What do you think?Part of the beautitudes. Matthew 5:27-30 Berean Study Bible: Adultery
    (Leviticus 18:1–30)

27You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’i 28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to depart into hell.

  19. So How will be say that intimacy has no lust? And if its there then Is intimacy too a sin? I feel having that feeling for someone we love isn’t bad,, its part of the overall feeling of love. Otherwise there won’t be any reproduction. But yeah! being lustful for every being of opposite gender is really a kind of disorder

  20. There is a thin line of difference between lust and love. One’s own discernment will allow oneself to know whether intimacy is all lust or something beyond. Lust talks of attraction- desires of the flesh,
while Love talks of a lifelong companionship where intimacy is not limited to the flesh, it goes beyond.

  21. I enjoyed the playful tone of conflict of the post. Lust is what, taunt, a tease, a truth? The comments reflected much of the same, curiosities conflicted by truth, fear, and guilt.

I hope to read more in the future. -dp-

  23. We never truly arrive. Progress, not perfection, for while on this earth we are only a reflection of that which is perfect, is the way I see it 😊
